Getting PhDs where they want to go
Hi! I'm Melissa Dalgleish, and my job is to help young academics and scientists--graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate-trained researchers--find and excel in jobs that they love inside and outside of academia.
How do I do that? I provide professional and career development services to the students, postdocs, and research associates working at the Hospital for Sick Children, I write about and advocate for graduate professional development and program reform, and I talk to students, faculty, administrators, and policymakers around North America about what they can do to help PhDs find rewarding careers. I also help current and former PhDs turn their C.V.s into resumes that get them noticed on the job market.
I'm an active researcher myself, and I write mostly about modernist poetry and Canadian writers who are obsessed with mythology. You can check out some of my writing in English Studies in Canada and Partisan.
